I am a self-taught cook/baker. Well, my mom and her best friend Kathe deserve much of the credit. They inspired me, educated me and encouraged me in the kitchen. Growing up, preparing dinner was a family affair; we all worked together in the kitchen to accomplish something delicious. My brother and I were never told we were in the way, even when our “helping” wasn’t much help at all. There are even pictures of me when I was just 3 or 4 sitting at my play table peeling potatoes. I loved creating in the kitchen from the very beginning.
I am a stay at home mama to my wonderful, amazing, adorable, crazy little man! He is one (how did that happen?) and an absolute dream come true! I am in no way a gourmet chef. I love to experiment and my picky husband is usually pretty game for new things. We aren’t fancy. We like simple, easy foods that taste delicious. My goal is to share recipes that are easy to understand and created with accessible, yummy ingredients.
I’m very worried this blog is going to make me fat. I have a major sweet tooth…I just can’t resist them (or potato chips for that matter). So here’s hoping I don’t gain 10lbs.

Megs – I love the name you’ve chosen and I can’t wait to make the first recipe. The photos that go along with the recipe are amazing.
I remember being maybe 9 years old and watching Kathe decorate a cake and just being amazed. Without your mom, I know I wouldn’t be half the cook/baker that I am.
I’m already itching to see more, congrat and good luck! Love you momma!
Thanks! I hope that you enjoy reading the blog! I am already itching to do another post! I have a pretty cool idea for Easter coming up that I found on another blog…it’s too cute! Love ya!
Hi Meg! Just dropping in to say hello – I randomly had dinner with your in-laws tonight. I live in Kansas City and we go to the same church. We started talking about my food blog and they mentioned yours! So glad to “meet” you!
Haha, that’s too weird! Glad to meet you too! I just checked out your blog and I love it! I’m your newest follower
Wow! I am so impressed! I LOVE all of your recipes they look so tasty (I am the pickiest eater in the family)! I am eleven years old and I have just started my blog. I loved the sugar cookies had little crosses, and all your recipes inspire me much! I want to be a good baker and cook too!
Thank you! I loved cooking and baking from a young age and as you can see, it continues to be a passion of mine! Good luck with your new blog…I will definitely be checking it out! It’s pretty amazing to have a blog at 11 years old.
