I am a self-taught cook/baker.  Well, my mom and her best friend Kathe deserve much of the credit.  They inspired me, educated me and encouraged me in the kitchen.  Growing up, preparing dinner was a family affair; we all worked together in the kitchen to accomplish something delicious.  My brother and I were never told we were in the way, even when our “helping” wasn’t much help at all.  There are even pictures of me when I was just 3 or 4 sitting at my play table peeling potatoes.  I loved creating in the kitchen from the very beginning.

I am a stay at home mama to my wonderful, amazing, adorable, crazy little man and have another one on the way (due Oct. 8th)!  Noah is three (how did that happen?) and an absolute dream come true!  I am in no way a gourmet chef.  I love to experiment and my picky husband is usually pretty game for new things.  We aren’t fancy.  We like simple, easy foods that taste delicious.  My goal is to share recipes that are easy to understand and created with accessible, yummy ingredients.

Megs – I love the name you’ve chosen and I can’t wait to make the first recipe. The photos that go along with the recipe are amazing.

I remember being maybe 9 years old and watching Kathe decorate a cake and just being amazed. Without your mom, I know I wouldn’t be half the cook/baker that I am.

I’m already itching to see more, congrat and good luck! Love you momma!

Hi Meg! Just dropping in to say hello – I randomly had dinner with your in-laws tonight. I live in Kansas City and we go to the same church. We started talking about my food blog and they mentioned yours! So glad to “meet” you!

Hello there, Meg! You have an amazing blog and I’d love to follow you because I wanna get updates from your kitchen and see that cute little boy. :D Your recipes are great, too. I did not have any idea that I’ve baked one of the recipes you posted here. That was before, when I still don’t have my account here – a year ago. I was surprised when I saw it was from you. :) Anyway, have a nice day!
